History

Our Department was established by the Higher Education General Assembly Decision dated 19.03.2014 with the aim of meeting the scope-changing laborforce needs of the rapidly developing industrial and service sectors. In accordance with this decision; Atatürk Vocational School, Gazi Vocational School and Ostim Vocational School, which are located within the structure of Gazi University, have been closed. The technical programs in these colleges have been gathered in a single college under the name of the newly established Gazi University Vocational School of Technical Sciences. In this regard, although the official establishment date of our college is 2014, it also carries the academic and administrative knowledge of our other colleges, which were established in the early 2000s and merged under the same roof. For this reason, our college has a deep-rooted past. The language of instruction at our Department is Turkish. Until the 2019-2020 academic year,  the 3 + 3 education system (3 semesters of face-to-face formal education and 3 semesters of workplace education) was conducted. Within the scope of the decision of the Senate is related to the 2019-2020 Academic year the 2 + 2 education system (3 semesters of face-to-face formal education and one semester of workplace education) has been inverted to the model for the fall semester.
